Gladiator Analyses- What makes him an action hero:
- Armour
- The fierce look
- His 'strong' body
- Weapons
What makes Indiana an action hero:
The hero needs to be physically strong to be able to fight and travel long distance across difficult terrain.
We can see that the hero is physically strong because in one scene we see him at the front of the train, with his spider webs attached to the buildings next to it as he was trying to save the train from tipping over the bridge. This tells us that he is the hero and not the villain as the train was full of people from different ages and he was trying to save them even if that meant that his identity got revealed.

Iconography- The set of symbols or images used in cinema, and recognised by people for example the Apple of Apple Mac and Bat for batman.
How does the iconography help us recognise the genre?
The iconography which helps us know that it is a Action Adventure film because of the weapons used which tells us that they are going into battle. The mise en scene of The Goonies shows to us that the little kids are looking at a treasure map with the lamp on and are trying to figure out were to go. Its very dark and the only light they have is from the lamp. There facial expressions show that they are confused of what the map is showing. This image does not show us any form of action e.g fighting or weapons but it does show us a form of adventure as thats what they are going to do.
