Analyses of Casino Royale film trailer.
List any elements that you think might appeal to the following groups-
  • Men- Guns, violence, Poker game, explosions, cars, fights/arguments, attractive women
  • Women-romance, James Bond
  • Teens-viloence, stunts, actors, fights,
  • Adults-romance, explosions, fights,
  • British Viewers- James Bond, British film
  • American viewers- Casino's,  expensive cars, big production

In which 2 categories  do you have the most annotations?
- I had the most annotations in the categories men and Teenagers.

Do you think the makers of the film and trailer intentionally tried to involve the 2 top groups you identified and alienate the bottom two groups? Why or why not?
- I think that the makers of the film tried to make this film and trailer as varied as possible, they wanted as many people from different audiences to go and watch it. How ever if someone explained the film to me I would think that this film was mostly men out of everyone.

The figure shows that country that had the biggest hit was America, event though its a British film it had what the Americans were looking for. For example the Casino's, expensive cars and that it was a big production film.

The Bond franchise as a whole is often accused of sexist portrayals of women. How might this affect the potential audience?
- As the film is mostly targeted at men, it could affect the audience ratings as women may feel that it is sexist towards them as in the film it shows the men and the ones who do all bad stuff and get the money where as all of the young beautiful  women are just there as 'the sex objects'.

Poster Analyses
Pirates of the caribbean- The cures of the black pearl:-
On this poster the things that would suggest that it is an action adventure film are the swords being held, the 3 men and the attractive women, the boats, the fight that is happening in the sea.
The Fugitive:-
On this poster we see a man running and it looks as if he's fast. We also see something that looks like its a train and the name also  suggest that it is an action adventure film.
Gladiator:-
This poster shows that it is an action adventure film as theres a man in a gladiator outfit holding a sword and it looks as if he's about to fight, and the name suggests that it has action in it.
Avatar:-
This poster shows that its an action adventure film as it has  a person on a dragon which shows to us that it is fantasy and also the director which has directed 2 more action adventure film which tells us this is action adventure, but still is an action adventure.

The poster that seems to fit most neatly into the Action Adventure genre is Pirates of the Caribbean as it shows to us all of the features that a action and adventure film would use. Like  the swords and the fight scene happening.
The hardest poster  to define as an action adventure film would be Avatar as it just looks like a typical fantasy film as it doesn't   have any thing to do with action adventure films like swords or guns.
The films have more in common as they all are action adventure films.

What should an audience expect from a film in the Action Adventure film?
2-fast-2-furious.jpg2 Fast 2 Furious- Theres the bad guy who is always trying to cause trouble. The good guy who is trying to solve everything. This is a crime/ thriller genre as they are going after money.  The narrative should have some one going out in a journey which doesn't turn out the way they wanted to. There are well known people who play the characters for example Paul Walker, Ludacris.

Book_jacket_of_Twilight.jpegTwilight-  The narrative of Twilight is the innocent girl falls in love with a vampire but her best friend who is a ware wolf gets jealous. Theres always the beginning, middle and end, also the villain and the hero.

Why are Action Adventure films so popular with audiences?
-The story lines used in them.
-The violence.
-The special effects (which are used in some films).
-The stunts.
-Mostly they have a wide range of audiences.
-The heros and the villains.
 -All of the suspense.
-Conflict between the action hero and stunt man
            -Mostly American genre
-Expensive due to stunts
-Straight forward

Why do some people criticise Action Adventure films?
-Simple theme
-Cheesy dialogues
-Mediocre storyline
-Low quality scripts
