Media Log about a commercial channel and its advert during a program The channel I chose is 191- BET.
I was watching 106&Park. The programme itself started at 2.00pm and finished at 3pm.
BEFORE-
There were quiet a fewa dverts I'd seen. The first ine was of a programme on that channel called The Deal, which is pretty similar to 106&Park itself it talks alot about whats in and whats not in for fashion. They played the Loreal Cheryl Cole advert. Porabably because its just very well known.  Also another advert was Justin Biebers My World Collection at HMV, and his JustBeats by Dr.Dre. This is very relevant as its music,and as he's been a geust on the show.
DURING- During the hour and half long program there were alot of breals between it. An advert was for its very own News Years Eve Party where Young Money/Cash Money were going to be attending, with Rocsi and Terrance and The Notarized 100 2010 songs.  The Compare The Meerkat came on which, I personally think is completly irrevelant. As this was on boxing day, there were alot of different adverts about the sales, from Harrods to Foot Asylum and Next.
AFTER-When the programme ended the IPad advert came on. There was another advert of the 106New Years Eve party.

 I think the adverts that were played during the programme were relevant to the target audience which is probably teenagers 15+ to young adults.

 Shot 1- Of Drakes blackberry, where he recieves a picture message from Pitbull, showing how he is at a party.

 Shot 2- When Drake actually takes out what the advert is permoting, which is the Kodak Camera.

 Shot 3- When Drake is about to take a picture of himself, this oart of the advert shows how quickly you can do so with that Camera.

Shot 4- This is showing you the product from the front.







Shot 5- This shows that once youve taken a picture, it is really easy to send it ti your friencds and share it online.





Shot 6- This is the ending of the advert, where it has the logo of the product then Drake's autograph.

2 Magazine Analysis

Magazine Analysis

The 2 types of Magazines I have chose to Analsye are Billboard and Shout.

 

Billboard Magazine

I chose Billboard Magazine because the largest factor of my magazine is going to be music. However it will still contain gossip, fashion and Entertainment. There is no strapline for this magazine. The main image which is of Justin Bieber is covering the Masthead, making Justin more important then the actual magazine name. The Denotation of this would be that you can see a Medium Long Shot of Justin Bieber, with a baby blue background (starting at the top with a very light blue, gradually getting abit darker). You see Justin Bieber holding a very big streo above his head, and all the typography  is to his left.

The Conotation of this magazine is that

Shout Magazine

The reason why I have chosen Shout Magazine is because this magazine represents nearly everthing. From Music to Fashion to Gossip. The masthead of this is going to be Shout. There is a strapline which says "100 Glamed Packed Pages" which is a way to draw alot of the audience to. The Denotated bit is that you can see a Close Up of Cheryl. Then around her is alot of different types of typography from huge to really small font sizes.  The Conotaion is.

Billboard Magazine Analysis

Billboard Magazine

This magazine does not have a Starpline. The Masthead would be Billiboard.

The image is behind the actual masthead meaning that the image is not as important as the actual magazine name.

The price of this is $4.99 as it is only sold in America. This is also written in a very small print as there are no freebies with this magazine. The barcode is at the front with the date which is May 28 2010.

The font of the masthead is really big and bold, with four different colours so it stands out. The other writing is also  in small, accept for all the main headings which are in bold, capital letters and have a colour highlight behind them.

However the main attention is on Drake, as the image is off him and his name and a little bit about him is in a big font.The main image of the magazine, which draws most of the attention is an image of a rapper called Drake. This image is the size of most of the magazine, meaning that what we can Denotate is that the image is roughly to scale as the magazine itself is an A4 size.

Denotation and Connotation

 My first image I have chosen is the Badges. The Denotation of it would be that there are three badges that their reflection opposite them.  This picture is in colour. They are red, blue and pink. They are shaped like shields that they used to use in the army.  
The Connotation of it would be that the badges mean different things for different purposes in school, like head girl, head boy and prefect.  These badges would help people who are trying to look out for them. People would have to wear these on their uniforms. 


My second image I have chosen is the Book. The Denotation of it is that its a close up  of a book with its book mark hanging out. It is piled on top of another book. This picture is in colour. The background of it  is a smooth yellow but clear.  The bookmark looks as if it has been hand made. 
The Connotation would be that in school everyone is always using them, weather their reading them or writing on them. From books everyone learns, that is the main purpose.
