Picture Stills Of Location for Scenes

The living room will be used for a short scene when Lily and her mum are chatting about what Lily has been up to. The reason why it is high key lighting is because Lily is NOT with the pencil case in this scene making it a more happier place to be in.
This is were Lily will be

Location Stills for scenes in school

This is where one of the most 'intense' scene in school will take place Lily will be walking across the wall tying to figure things out. The reason we decided  to have this scene was becasue the wall itself fit in very well with our storyline and the main character.

Here we will see Lily trying to figure out what the pencil case actually means and will even try getting some help; but no one will help her.

When this scene is shown to the audience it will be a close up so they can only see the tree and the two characters (Lily and Hannah)  who will be leaning against it having a heart to heart conversation.  We decided not to have the 2 characters sitting around a table or on a bench because that would be 'normal' and with this tree it shows the differency of Lily.
This will be near the opening of the trailer as it is the classroom where the whole story starts off. The main reason we decided to choose this classroom was because of the settings of the tables and the fact the chairs were different. But the one main reason for this class was that it is very dark (apart from the middle where there is no blind but we try and fix that once we start shooting)
This is the one main classroom wher the character Lily will discover the pencilcase.
This will be edited into the scene of he classroom because the classroom itself does nothave a cupboard; but this cupboard will go very well with he story as it is ver crowded and very packed. This is where the story will unfold as Lily would've finally of found the pencil case.

Submarine- After Viewing

Submarine makes very extensive use of voiceover.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IVFfiv6wpY

What effects do you think are achieved by having Oliver speak directly to the audience through voiceover?
Having the main character doing the voiceovers is really good because from that its already very different to many films who have a random person doing the voiceovers. It will definatly help gain the audience's attention because they would be getting much more closer to Oliver than of he never done the voiceovers and we just saw what was on screen. Having Oliver do them shows the audience  what he really thinks about whats going on in his life, and he gets to tell us himself what is going on in his life and in his mind.

Do you think there is a gap between what Oliver says about himself and the reality that we see on screen? If so, what effects does this create.
No, i personally dont think that there is a gap between what Oliver says about himself to what the audeince see on screen because  he is very open about his life in the film. It engages us as he tells us things through voiceover and then he does it on screen/ tries to do it on screen.
But if there was gap between Oliver doing voiceover then what the aduience see on screen then that would effect the audience because they would be confused about the 2 different things that Oliver has been saying.

Submarine- Before Viewing

Submarine;
Directed By-Richard Ayoade
Certificate-15
Running Time-97 minutes
Reason why we're analysing this film- as its from a teenagers prospective.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L6p3ZU2EeU

What sort of feeling and impact can music videos have and what effect could a music video style sequence achieve in a film?-Music videos can be very effective because they show the meaning of what the song and the lyrics to it is actually about. Music videos have a big impact on movies as they show the expressions between each scene and the songs played meanwhile. The music in the music video style sequence can reflect the emotion of whats going on, on the screen and it also adds atmosphere.

Can you think of other films which feature extended montage sequences that are quite like music videos? -Angus Thongs & Perfect Snogging also has music as a big part throughout the film. The ending of the trailer to this film shows some features that music videos could possibly have.

Ayoade's Music Videos
Arctic Monkeys- Fluorescent Adolescent
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ma9I9VBKPiw&ob=av2e

This video could be cinematic as it shows a similar theme to a high speed action scene from a film. It also suggests that the scene from the movie would be scary because clowns have been used and clowns are seen as scary things.

Vampire Weekend- Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wHl9qRsMzw&ob=av2e

This video has some cinematic features which tell us a story as there is a girl who we think has a boyfriend and whilst there is a party going on her 'boyfriend' is singing a song for another girl. This could eaily be seen as a scene from a romantic film. But then the whole scenery changes as it gets all scary and frightning and theres fire and alot of black and candles;hence another scene but from a different tyoe of horror film.

Kasabians- Vlad The Impaler
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM5YDI7ttME
There are some similarities of themes in this music video of diffrerent scenes from a horror/scary film. This is mostly all set out in low key lighting which puts the 'frightning' effect on it.

Do you see any similarities in terms of visual style? Can you identify any stylistic or thematic motifs across these texts?

MARKETING IDEAS FOR 'INKED'

Marketing Ideas For 'INKED'.
From all the research i have gained, we decided that we should create a poster for our film which would attract our main audience being teenagers; as these could go near schools and places they would habg out. We also decided to create a Twitter page for our main character Lily as we will be using this in the film.

Twitter- We decided to make a twitter account instead of a facebook one because it would gain alot of different audiences around the world. Throughout the film we will be using Lily's twitter account to get her feelings across to the audience because for facebook she would've had to keep updating her status whereas for twitter she can say what she feels whenever. This would also be really good because instead of having a boring old diary where Lily writes about everything she can just tweet it instead.

This shows the sign up for Lily's account that we shall be using in the film.

Marketing of Films.

How  films are marketed to people depends on their target audience. Marketing is a very big key into getting people to go and spend money by watching it in the cinemas becuase its a way of 'selling the product.'

Smurfs Movie (2011);
This was an animated film based on the comic book 'The Smurfs'. The main target audience was children aged 6 and above. This was given a rating U to show that even parents werent needed to acompnay their children. They marketed the film in many ways from the movie trailers to posters to the use of tv adverts with the connection with fast food restraunts for example McDonalds. As this was a kids based film McDonalds decided to give out little stuff toys on eevry happy meal, which would of made the kids more attracted to the film and then would've made their parents go and make them watch the film.

Sixty Six (2006);
This is a film which has a main target audience of teenagers, as the main character is a child himself.  This was given a 12 rating (in the uk) for its language and breif nudity. This marketed itself very well by having posters of it every where promoting it self. The poster itself shows the main chararcter and his parents; whilst Bearnie is holding a football which has 'it was bearnies BIG DAY, but there was little competititon'' As he is holding a football it shows that it had something to do with a football final. By doing this they would have also targeted at football lovers becuase they would have a feeling that this film would be for them.

Juno (2007);
This film had a target audience of teenagers up to young adults. The rate for this was 12A becuase of its language. As it was targeted at this age group the producers decided to make a official website ( http://www.foxsearchlight.com/juno/ ) that was all to do with the film because they knew that they would be able to go on it and engage with the characters.

Exam Preparations

Key Points:
*Family friendly
*Not too many special effects
*Global appeal
*TV Focus on marketing- this means TV trailer, maybe a making of programme, or an interview with the directors/actors... one suggestion, planning an advert. Competitions to go on the set of the film.

To think about:
Task 1- codes and conventions and perhaps representation.
Task 2- institutions and audiences- why are they made, why they are popular and with whom.
Task 3- ideas for film and synopsis.
Task 4- storyboard for TV trailer.

Merchandise is an interesting idea- show awareness of all the different techniques.  Understanding synergy e.g Star wars with lego.

2A) Practise Pitch-

- The O'Conner family- Becca (Mum)  Jesse (Dad) Nicki   (Youngest daughter)  Kimberly  (Oldest daughter) Brian (Brother) Brownie (rabbit)
- Set in the Bahamas.
- Nicki and the dog are playing around in there basement when they find something they've never seen before.  A washing machine that transports you to the bahamas.
-Dog gets trapped in it.
-Nicki goes and realises she is in another country.
-Brian and Kimberly realise that Nicki and Brownie are missing so they tell their parents.
-Parents look everywhere, go in the basement and see Nicki's shoe outside.

Age rating- 12A

The Farm Group- Work Experience (16/05/11- 27/05/11) ♥

Monday  16th May:
It was the first day of Work Experience, me and Humaira had met up and we got the train to Leicester Square- we found our way to Soho Square to The Farm but then rang Mark as we couldnt find Uncle. He had sent a runner called Teda to escort us over to Uncle. We got to Uncle and met Mark and Michelle (Michelle was Marks 'partner in crime'). Mark had told us that we would mostly be in the building called Uncle as thats were he was based. We then met a guy called Grant who was in Uni and was on Work Experience- but I wasnt really working with him. He first gave us a tour of the 4 buildings called, The Farm, Home, Shed and Uncle. All of these buildings are scattered around Soho. At first it wa really confusing but we knew we would get use to it. Once he had done that he put us on the first floor kitchen called 'Uncle Orange". In here we met Richard (Rich), Jesse and a new beginner called Jonny- they were all super sweet.Richard gave us another tour of Uncle. Then we started making tea and coffee, cleaning up and doing the Tesco shop with Rich. Jesse had bought us some nice lunch from Moolis it was a paneer wrap. Then we got to know each other, and well just started joking around. Jesse and Rich wanted Jonny to do something all beginners had to do, but I volunteered to do whatever it was. Jesse said 'I was joking, you could die'. I replied ' I wasnt I want to do whatever it was' . It turned out that we had to take a little piece of Hot Sauce called Mad Dog. Jesse put the tiniest amount on my my tongue and it literally started to burn. It was a great first day.

Tuesday 17th May- Day to at work, me and Humaira had got there early and so Mark had split us two up. She went to the kitchen upstairs, and I stayed down with Rich,Jesse and Jonny. Started to make the orders and sweep up. Jesse had some embarrasing phone calls today. We had interesting conversations about regular life. Richard  then decided to wax Jonny's arm with tape- YES TAPE. (That is what they do when its down in the ktichen). I had odered something different today- Cous Cous, I had never tried it and it turnt out to be absolutly disgusting, I had to throw it in the bin. Me and Humaira were eating lunch at the Terrace Roof Top, in some super cool chairs. Then once we had finished we went in the bathroom to check how we looked, and well 2 seconds later all we could hear outside was 'Oh My God, look there doing there make-up' Then Rich and Jesse started to copy us. Rich had taken me to a run at Home, and everytime we would see someone we kew we would high five each other (which I thought was cool). Jesse and Rich had made frosty coffee with ginger and mashed up biscuts which I really liked aswell. Got to learn alot about the runners today.

Wednesday 18th May- Day 3 at Work with Humaira, as usal we got there early (but its better getting there early right?) Today we ditched the kitchens and went to CTA (Communication Technical Area) in Uncle. We were there for 3 hours, but they were really tight on schedule so they didnt really explain what they were doing. Then Ben explained what happpend in CTA; CTA was the next step after being a runner. We first found out what Offline and Online suites meant. Offline is were your putting the programme together and online is where your 'polishing' it up. Then Ben and Paul showed us how to digitise a tape which meant make it easier for the editor to edit. So this was abit boring for us. We then went to get lunch, and we went Mooli with Rich this time. Back to our nice cosey chairs. After lunch Rich (from CTA) took us down to MCR().
This is wereall of the tapes are stored to make into standard or high definition. Here we met Rob, Olly and Jamie. Rob was the one who showed us round it, and the room was just completly covered in machines. Everytime Rob would say something incorrect Jamie would just be on his case. MCR was really interesting because we got to see the 3 different times of machienery- the really old ones, standard definition and high definition. Rob doesnt know the difference between grey and brown! Jamie definitely reminds me off Quagire from Family Guy. Rob had taught us how to strip a tape- which meant have nothing on it so that the editior could use it. That was really interesting. Back in the kitchen I had broken a mug! (but it was okay, happens all the time). Rich had also told us about Jesse's little black diary- which apparently to Jesse is his life. Learnt alot today.

Thursday 19th May-  Once again we were early. It was Day 4 at The Farm. Today Rich wasnt here but we met Sylv (Sylvia). She is just SUPER cool, its unreal. We were back in the kitchen today and we had mor nice frosty coffee. When there were like no boys in the kitchen Sylv randomly ask me and Humaira- ''So which one of the guys is the fittest?''.It was a bit akward, but she got the answer! Mark had ordered some Bob Marley energy drinks so Reggea was our theme of the day. We had some nice lunch, and Humaira was watching Michael McIntyre on Youtube- and Jesse joined us. Yes he is funny- but shes just A BIT TO obbessed. Richard Hammond had just walked past us- but I didnt realise him properly. Then I went up to Jesse and asked, ''Was that Richard Hammond I just saw?!'' He said '' Yeah, just act cool''. So in the end we didnt get a picture- but I geuss it was alright. Me and Humaira got asked to do anoter run to Home and we didnt get lost. *proud momnet*

Friday 20th May- It was Day 5, and an end to a very incredible week. ''ITS FRIDAY, FRIDAY, GOTTA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY''- That was obviously our song for the day. Rich was once again not here, as he was working weekends. We met Jamie today, but he was only in for half a day- so back to Jesse and Jonny. They werent singing 'Friday' to the right tune. They were singing it to Justin Bieber's 'Baby'-which was just terrible. Mark had asked us what to do, and we said we dont mind being in the kitchens again- we got used to it. Today Jesse was 2 hours late, but he didnt get caught. He's good like that! Just the usal in the kitchen, sweeping up and making orders. Had another nice lunch- Ally Levi wrap; YUMMMM! Everyone was looking forward to the party after work, with all the coaktails and what not. We were really suprised because it wasnt busy today, and it was a Friday as well. This week was amazing- dont know what will top it off next week. ♥

Monday 23rd May-  Day 6 at work, brand new week. Even though me and Humaira had woken up late- we still managed to get to work early again (they probably think that we dont have lives) Mark put us in the kitchens again. We were both in our usal place- Uncle Orange. When we got there I made toast as we didnt have breakfast, well I put the toast in and just sat down. 2 minutes later Jesse said- ''It would help if it was switched on!'' I was like its Monday Morning- I got an excuse. Today we had met Jade, and she so adorable. As it wasnt busy Jade and Rich decided to have a Limbo Competition- and well Rich is just WOW at it! Me and Humaira went out and bought Mc'Donalds for lunch. A worker at Farm came into our kitchen- and well apparently he had walked into a lampost; so for the next 20 minutes we were talking about Childhood Bullies- STAY AWAY FROM  HOLLY FOSTER(says Jade). A runner came to get some fruit, and she's the one who eats all the banana's from our kitchen. So Jesse and Rich started having a go at her as a joke. Jesse was like ''Yeah- the life of runners, arguing over bananas!'' I went on a run with Rich to another Post Production company somewhere in Soho to despatch a tape. Good day I have to say.

Tuesday 24th May-  Day 7 at the awsome Farm Group with Humaira. Getting there early was just normal for us now. Wewent off to the kitchen to make breakfast, than Mark had rang Rich and we went ove to The Farm for the day. Rich  had to 'escort' us over and we went in the lift- a very tiny lift, and well Rich was just being his crazy self, jumping in the lift like a monkey. We went to Audio 2 were we had met Tom. He was mixing all the sound to Total Wipeout Final- which is aire out next year! When we got there he was just deleting all the extar noises in the background. The part 2 was to add all the music and sound effects. I found that like super cool- he had been at The Farm for 8 years- and so he was a pro at everything. The music took up most of the day. It was time to eat and poor Dom (the runner at Fatm) had to Uncle to collect our lunches, BLESS. We had lunch with Tom; Humaira ruined mine by putting nasty Tuna in it! Then Tom had started to show us how he put Richard Hammonds voiceovers because there are 2 copies given to the producer- one with the voice overs, and the other with no narration just incase another country wants to buy it. This was just amazing. We rang Rich, poor him had to come and collect us again. On our way back he saw how 'blonde' Humaira was! Great day!

Wednesday 25th May-  Day 8 at our amazing work placement. We both went and saw Mark, then went to get some breakfast. On our way up we bumped into Jesse- and he actually beat Rich to work today. It was bust today, especially because of the breakfast rush.  I kind of felt like I was in the way because they wanted to do the work. Mark had told us that Louis (who works down in reception- who also looks like Edward from Jedward) was trying to get us something to do. But untill Lunch rush we were just chilling in the kitchen, sweeping up and helping out. We were once again escorted over to Home( this time not by Rich) and we went into a very, very dark suite called Colours. Here we met a guy called Sonny- who was super super sweet and had really niceeyes! First we just sat around and Sonny was finshing up some shots of the programme he was doing today called A+E. As it was a dark room, me and Humaira secretly had a sugar rush. Then it was over to us. We were showed 3 'balls' tat we had to move around to adjust the colours. One was for blacks, whites and the other for mid colours. I went first and my first shot was a man on the phone in a waiting room- I was proud of it and Sonny said- ''WOW, My girl your a natural!''- Hope he meant it! Then Humaira had a go, and she was blind as she left her glasses so she didnt know what was happening! Sonny loved my second edit, it was because we didnt have to go fot the 'natural' look, and so it was easier to play around with the colours. He said, ''WOW, I might be out of a job if we worked there!''. (bless him). He left us with another shot of an ambulence coming back, me and Humaira had totally messed that up! But somehow Humaira fixed it! He literally thought us everything about Colour in 40 minutes and I was still AMAZED! I asked him what else he's worked on he said, ''Skins, Misfits, Shameless, and music videos for Madonna,Usher, Beyonce, Saturdays and more. Amazing or what?! Then we said goodbye and went back to Uncle on our own because we knew that Rich would be really busy. As soon as we got uoto our kitchen, Michelle ranh our kitchen and asked Jade to send us back-We didnt know what for. But it was just for a run to Home again (seeing as they trust us now!) So off we went back to home, and dispatched the mail. We came back and said bye to Jesse because he was going home as he had a bad night. It was just us, Rich and Jade. We were just being crazy;having fun- RICHARD IS ONE JOKER, HE IS SOOOO CRAZYY! Then Rich and Jade wanted to make smoothies with the left over fruit in our kitchen. and the were REAL nice! Jade is so adorable, bless. Her and Drew got 'married' with an overly expensive wdding dress! One awsome day again!

Thursday 26th May- Day 9 at this amazing place called The Farm Group. Today was my last day- whilst Humaira had Friday due to my silly Business Exam. Me and Humaira got off at Acton Town beacuse Humaira's dad wanted to give us a lift in his train. So we met him, then got in the drivers cabin. We were on the district line and as this was my first time (and probably my onlytime) in it I would definatly never forget it. We got off at South Kensington and went on our usal way. Got there early for the last time. Back in the Kitchen ( Uncle Orange)- man was I going to miss this place! Today we had Rich and Jonny withus as Jade was ill and Jesse had swaped shifts. It was very fun; a perfect day to end this incredible time. We did our usal ting, we were ABSOLUTLY crazy with the boys! It came to lunch time and we had to start doing runs- Humaira wanted to go with Jonny so I satyed with Rich (again). We went to Nandos, Makemine and somewhere else. When me and Rich had left he made us take umberalla's and I said we didnt need them, but then it started raining like heck. Im geussing Mr Wilson wa right (like always). Then Jonny went to get our lunches, Moolis for the very last time. We had wrapped up cutlery- then sweeped up and started to relax. After that we had finally got a picture with Michelle. We were then just messing around- then it hit me how I was going to miss all of these very weird but amazing people! We started washing up then Mark came in with 2 bags which said 'Farm Group', and had a black 'The Farm for life' t-shirts in them. These were for and Humaira and Mark ahd given them to us. We went and gave him a group hug! SO SWEET! Rich came back in the kitchen and I was like 'Geuss who's officially part of the crew!'  Then when Rich and Jonnyhad left the kitchen I had put on Drake's playlist and started singing to it. Only to find out that Rich was behind me- ANGRY, joke. Whilst jamming out to Drake with the guys we had recieved an email that Humaira had read- and it said, 'JLS giving out autographs to crazy fans'-Home. She went crazy! Rich told us to go and ask Mark if we could go and see them, he wasnt there but Michelle let us run there! We got here and thre were alot of fans, I knew that we wouldnt see them. It was at Soho Hotel which is next door to Home. The runners at Home-like Drew were just standing there laughing at us! After 15 minutes we left because security had said that they werent going to come out. We got back- and thats when I said my goodbye to lovel Michelle! We had also finally gotten a picture with Jonny, as everytime we needed to he wasnt here. Back to listening to Drake and me singing along, Rich was like to Jonny- 'We got a ghetto irl here aynt we'- bless. After that we had gotten our stuff, and so I said my goodbye to Rich and Jonny- whilst giving them individual hugs I started crying. EMBARRASING. |An experience im sure I will NEVER forget<3

Friday 27th May-  Official last day at The Farm; Day 10. I had an Business Exam today so I came in after that. It was indeed a Friday which meant having alcohol after lik 5ish. Once my exam finished me and Sheida went to the underground- whist on the underground I finished off Mark and The Runners cards. I quickly got changed and put my amazing Farm Group top on. Once we got there, I looked to check if Mark was in his office, but he wasnt so we went straight up to 'our' kitchen. Finally had seen Jesse and he was giving me that 'look' as I was holding 2 gift bags. 'Sorry but I thought Mark+Michelle should get a gift, noothing for you guys' I joked with him. 'Awwwwh man!' Jesse said. So me and Humaira just sweeped up for like the last time(sadly).  Then we were just waiting to get Jonny here, so that we could give them there card. In The Runners card I had written-'From the first day, we were probably nothing but pain from sitting around doing nothing to that hot spicy Mad Dog Game. From all those phone orders and runs, we've actually had so much fun! Believe it or not, we have learnt alot. The last 2 weeks have been the best, even though we may of made a mess. Just a little note to say Thank You, never change and we'll miss you!' In Mark and Michelles I had to write something different which was- 'Mark and Michelle, were should we start? Nothing would have happend if it wasnt for you, we are so grateful- so thank you! You guys ahve been so lovely and kind, we just hope you didnt waste any of your time. Believe it or not, in the last 2 weeks we have actually learnt alot. Right now i'm stating a fact, that one day we will come back. Startig of as runners, then leading on to big things-just to show you that we can win! Just a little something to say Thank You; one more thing we will definatly never forget you!' I really wanted to say goodbye to Drew (from Home) as in the last 2 days we had become close with him, and as if by magic he came into our kitchen. So for like 15 minuted we were just chatting about Media and stuff- then we gave him a hug and said goodbye. Jonny had finally come, and so the 3 guys were standing talking and I went up tothem and said-'Guys we got you a little something to say Thank You.' (I literally wanted to cry). We had a MASSIVE group hug! Jonny and Rich kinda knew what it was, so Igave it to Jesse as he was 'lost'. He took the chocolates out and was like 'yessssssss!'- cuteeeeee! They LOVED LOVED there card- and stuck it up. We finally said our last goodbyes, hugged Jesse, Rich and Jonny- not forgetting Mark. Mark also LOVED his present and card aswell.
-We are definatly going to still keep in touch!
We may of been in the kitchen for a long time- but we DEFINALTY learnt alot about PostProduction.

Action Adventure- Heros

Gladiator Analyses- What makes him an action hero:

  •  Armour
  • The fierce look
  • His 'strong' body
  • Weapons
What makes Indiana an action hero:
    Spiderman_2_teaser-01.jpg
  • His holding a sword
  • On a bridge
Spiderman:
The hero needs to be physically strong to be able to fight and travel long distance across difficult terrain.
We can see that the hero is physically strong because in one scene we see him at the front of the train, with his spider webs attached to the buildings next to it as he was trying to save the train from tipping over the bridge. This tells us that he is the hero and not the villain as the train was full of people from different ages and he was trying to save them even if that meant that his identity got revealed.

6535jacksparrow.jpgMy favourite hero is Jack Sparrow because out of all the others he adds humour to what he does but then still saves what he has to do. He stands out because he is funny. If you saw him for the first time you may think that he wasn't an actual hero as he's a pirate and looks evil.

Iconography- The set of symbols or images used in cinema, and recognised by people for example the Apple of Apple Mac and Bat for batman.

How does the iconography help us recognise the genre?
The iconography which helps us know that it is a Action Adventure film because of the weapons used which tells us that they are going into battle. The mise en scene of The Goonies shows to us that the little kids are looking at a treasure map with the lamp on and are trying to figure out were to go. Its very dark and the only light they have is from the lamp. There facial expressions show that they are confused of what the map is showing. This image does not show us any form of action e.g fighting or weapons but it does show us a form of adventure as thats what they are going to do.

Analyses of Casino Royale film trailer.
List any elements that you think might appeal to the following groups-
  • Men- Guns, violence, Poker game, explosions, cars, fights/arguments, attractive women
  • Women-romance, James Bond
  • Teens-viloence, stunts, actors, fights,
  • Adults-romance, explosions, fights,
  • British Viewers- James Bond, British film
  • American viewers- Casino's,  expensive cars, big production

In which 2 categories  do you have the most annotations?
- I had the most annotations in the categories men and Teenagers.

Do you think the makers of the film and trailer intentionally tried to involve the 2 top groups you identified and alienate the bottom two groups? Why or why not?
- I think that the makers of the film tried to make this film and trailer as varied as possible, they wanted as many people from different audiences to go and watch it. How ever if someone explained the film to me I would think that this film was mostly men out of everyone.

The figure shows that country that had the biggest hit was America, event though its a British film it had what the Americans were looking for. For example the Casino's, expensive cars and that it was a big production film.

The Bond franchise as a whole is often accused of sexist portrayals of women. How might this affect the potential audience?
- As the film is mostly targeted at men, it could affect the audience ratings as women may feel that it is sexist towards them as in the film it shows the men and the ones who do all bad stuff and get the money where as all of the young beautiful  women are just there as 'the sex objects'.

Poster Analyses
Pirates of the caribbean- The cures of the black pearl:-
On this poster the things that would suggest that it is an action adventure film are the swords being held, the 3 men and the attractive women, the boats, the fight that is happening in the sea.
The Fugitive:-
On this poster we see a man running and it looks as if he's fast. We also see something that looks like its a train and the name also  suggest that it is an action adventure film.
Gladiator:-
This poster shows that it is an action adventure film as theres a man in a gladiator outfit holding a sword and it looks as if he's about to fight, and the name suggests that it has action in it.
Avatar:-
This poster shows that its an action adventure film as it has  a person on a dragon which shows to us that it is fantasy and also the director which has directed 2 more action adventure film which tells us this is action adventure, but still is an action adventure.

The poster that seems to fit most neatly into the Action Adventure genre is Pirates of the Caribbean as it shows to us all of the features that a action and adventure film would use. Like  the swords and the fight scene happening.
The hardest poster  to define as an action adventure film would be Avatar as it just looks like a typical fantasy film as it doesn't   have any thing to do with action adventure films like swords or guns.
The films have more in common as they all are action adventure films.

What should an audience expect from a film in the Action Adventure film?
2-fast-2-furious.jpg2 Fast 2 Furious- Theres the bad guy who is always trying to cause trouble. The good guy who is trying to solve everything. This is a crime/ thriller genre as they are going after money.  The narrative should have some one going out in a journey which doesn't turn out the way they wanted to. There are well known people who play the characters for example Paul Walker, Ludacris.

Book_jacket_of_Twilight.jpegTwilight-  The narrative of Twilight is the innocent girl falls in love with a vampire but her best friend who is a ware wolf gets jealous. Theres always the beginning, middle and end, also the villain and the hero.

Why are Action Adventure films so popular with audiences?
-The story lines used in them.
-The violence.
-The special effects (which are used in some films).
-The stunts.
-Mostly they have a wide range of audiences.
-The heros and the villains.
 -All of the suspense.
-Conflict between the action hero and stunt man
            -Mostly American genre
-Expensive due to stunts
-Straight forward

Why do some people criticise Action Adventure films?
-Simple theme
-Cheesy dialogues
-Mediocre storyline
-Low quality scripts

The Fast and The Furious

Task 1A) Explain the main features of action adventure films and provide examples to support your ideas. Refer to at least 2 Action Adventure films.

My first action adventure film that I have chosen is The Fast and the Furious. This is the the first movie out of the 5 in the series.
This sub genre is Crime/Thriller as it keeps us the audience on the edgeof our seats as we want to know whats going to happen next, and their is crime taking place.
A typical action adventure film has a beginning, middle and an end.
The story line is that  The Fast & The Furious is loosely based on an article in a magazine about street clubs that race Japanese cars late at night. Domenic Toretto is the leader of a street gang that is under suspicion of stealing expensive electronic equipment. Brian O'Connor is an undercover police officer attempts to find out who exactly is stealing the equipment, while falling for Domenic's younger sister, Mia.
The journey and quest of this film is to find out what i going on and to stop it.
This could be cassified as a family film, but for over 13s as their is some sexual content in it.
The main feature of the film is the time when they are racing eachother for goods.
There are extreme stunts used in this film- which to us are completley amazing.

Synopsis on a new AA film.

Can It Be?!! -That a nerd saves the universe.
Set in New York, Breadbin High is a typical highschool, full with all the geeks, jocks, nerds, cheerleaders, cool kids, theres the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior years. Theres this one group in particular that stick out more than the rest. It consists of 3 jocks, 2 cheerleaders and 5 cool kids.
20 drama students get to go on a trip to LA for 2 weeks- and well things start to go wrong. People start going missing, bombs start to appear and people begin to die.

The only thing is that only one person knows how to get rid of the BMachine- but the thing is he dosent know what to do...

Analyses on WhySoSerious?.com

The website whysoserious.com is to do with the joker. It has been made by him- and it representng he is. Having a website about The DarkKnight is another way of promoting the film by warner bros. When first entering the website we hear 'The GCN Traffic Update' which connots that this a place which has got somthing to do with crime, but then all of a sudden we hear an evil laugh and the breaking news headline just cuts off. We the target audience automatically think of the joker as the person who had laughed and done something to the signal. The first thing that grabbed my attetntion was the 'To do list' on the middle of the site. Everything on that list has been crossed out showing us that those things have been done. The joker has used a red pen or red lipstick to cross out the things on the list and as you search across the website you see that he has drwan over the lips of the people in the pictures and given them  big red smile, as on the to do list the last thing thing it says is 'To leave a big mark'. This could connote that the big mark would have something to do with the red ink he has used all over the website. Once you  actually properly surfed the website you realise that it is from the jokers prospective and that he hs a very big sense of humor as the layout of it is very different to anyother websites- hence the name whysoserious. It looks as if the whole of the front  page has been layed out on a wooden floor-maybe to give it some more suspense. Most of the little images are links which lead you on to other parts of the website-which have all been overtaken by the joker.

The similarites between the website and the poster (analyses in book) are that they are both to do with the joker, telling us that he is like the major role in this film.

WorkExperience Interview at FarmGroup-31/03/11♥

On Thursday 31st March me and Humaira had our WorkExperience Interview at FarmGroup. We went with Mr Holloway, Miss Ashworth and a bunch of sixth formers. We found out were it was (but its SO confusing, its through TOO many alleys, =/) But its absolutly AMAZING! Im privilaged to have just gone and visited then actually doing 2 weeks worth of experience there! Our supervisor Mark is really sweet and he gave us a tour of "Uncle" the main building we will be working in. There are 4 other buildings which we will get the tour off on our first day! Firstly we will be making coffee/tea and sorting out paperwork, then may have the chance to start editing things, and whilst we are there they will be doing Britains Got Talent, Misfits etc. :O IMAGINE if we meets celebs-no we're there for "professional" work. =D Two of the best things out of it is that we can wear whatevr we want( YES-No smart clothing!!) and that during lunch hours we're allowed to mess around, play the Nintendo WII and chill out on the roof top! So i personally cant wait, dunno about Humaira! =P
just want the 16th May to HURRY UP. ♥

♥SkyTrip-22/03/11.

Our media class went to the Sky studios in Osterly on the 22/03/11, and it was most definatly one of the best experinces I have ever had. We were split into 2 groups, and I was with Miss Ashton. We first went and done Prensentation and recorded ourselves doing Soccer AM which was totally cool. Everyone there was super nice and we were treated like profeesionals! I also done the autokey and sound for the others. After that we went and had lunch( which was pretty nice to I have to say- cause like I cant live withought food!) =P Then we went and done our own programming for SKY MOVIES FAMILY for 24/03/11 which was amazing. We then went to some place called TX studios which was boring i geuss as the lady was speaking SO much and used very professional terminology! Then came the best bit we got our goodies (LOL) and left.

SKY was SOO much better than my experience at BBC-so thank you Miss Doyle.

P.S-Miss Aston your such a joker. ;D

TV Adevrt Analysis

My TV Advert is <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8JzBbCBApWU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The reason why I have chosen this advert, is because 80% of people must have heard of this product, or atleast the company/brand. The denotation for this would be that Apple are trying to show what an IPad is useful for, for example: work, social, memories etc.  They have shown something to do with a subject, then have made it clear to us what it is. A conotated bit would be when they have written things like "musical" or "historic", they have written it in black on put it on a white background, most probably  get the viewers attention on it. Also at the during the adver the same "hand" comes in to show what the IPad is about, and this hand looks more mascualin probably because the IPad was aimed for anyone but specifically men. The target audinece would be from teenagers to adults, as it can be used for games or for work. As there is nothing like this out there, Apple will be very known for this as the company with the touch computer.

Print advert analysis

McFlurry Advert
I have chosen to write about the McDonalds McFlurry advert, as I thought that this goes out to most of the audience out there. The dennotation of this advert would be that you have a close up of a Smarties McFlurry. I personally think they have chosen to their Smarties flavoiur, as unlike the others this is there main trademark flavour for this type of icecream. The others, they have shown above the actual image. The Connnotated bit would be where they have placed the PoundSaverMenu at the bottom of the image. This would be to attract more customers as they would know that the ice-cream will be 1 pound. The target audience would be from kids to maybe adults. The selling point of this advert really stands out because the background is very plain, and the actual picture has alot of coulour to it.

An Advert that does not work.

An advert that dosent work would have to be the lastest Finish The Diamond Standard. The advert is advertisting the dishwasher tablets. It shows all of the fat going through it, which just makes you abosolutly SICK, as its properly gushing down the drain. They show you the difference with the tablet and without the tablet. There is no need for that, and the person who does the overhead talking is really slow, it just wants you to flip the channel.
